Women's Vest/Top

Colorful Vest / Chevron Top

Free Knitting Pattern

This 3-color tank is knitted in two pieces from the top down.

Yarn-over increases make decorative lace lines at the center;

in combination with stitch decreases, they make a nice chevron stitch version.

With cotton yarn, you can knit a lovely summer top.

Wool yarn can be used to make a cold season vest.

NOTES

Every of 3 colors counts 36 [-, -, 38, -] rows with 18 [-, -, 19, -] eyelets on each side
of the center (1 eyelet=2 rows).

Selvage stitches are omitted from pattern count except for cast on.

How to work selvage sts on every row:
slip 1st selvage st purl-wise
(exception: knit it through back loop when starting new color)
knit 2nd selvage st through back loop.

Stitch markers are optional as vertical lines of decreases and increases are obvious enough;
yet for more convenience, place markers before 1st decrease (K2togL) and after 2nd decrease (K2togR) and work respective decreases afterwards: K2togL after 1st marker and K2togR before 2nd marker.
